Unit 1 Project Topic

Q Introduction The course project is a series of elements where students will examine the current standing of an organization’s compensation and benefits system. Students select an organization and training topic in Unit 1 (ungraded but subject to approval) and submit different elements in Units 3, 5, and 6. In the final component of the training program, students will provide recommendations to the organization on how the compensation program can be improved. Students will compile this work and submit the completed plan and recommendations in Unit 8. Directions For this unit, you will need to select an Organization. While you may choose your own company/department, keep in mind that this is graduate-level work and, as such, needs to be scholarly in nature. Projects need to be unbiased and written in the third person. Consider yourself examining the compensation system as a 3rd party outsider without prior knowledge of the system. In all cases, the organization should be legitimate and not fictitious. As you consider what organization to select, consider how you will be able to gather information. Sources should be scholarly in nature and might include journal articles, interviews of professionals, organizational documents. Personal experience does not count as a scholarly source – remember, you should be using this project as an opportunity to broaden your perspective. 1. Post the organization that you will use for the project this term. 2. Include at least two (2) scholarly sources that you plan to use for this assignment. While this assignment is ungraded, it is required. Additional project elements cannot be accepted without an approved organization. Due Date • by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, CT.
